About The Department
The Department of Finance offers AACSB-accredited curriculum at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels. Our undergraduate and master's students have pursued a variety of careers, including jobs as financial analysts and engineers. Most of the employers are located in Washington, Baltimore, Boston, and New York; among them are State Street, ProFunds, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and various Federal and International organizations (The Federal Reserve, The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, etc.).
Our doctoral students play an important part in the Department's orientation towards quality research. Upon their graduations, they continue to focus on the creation of knowledge in their roles as faculty and research staff at academic, government, and corporate entities, both in the US and abroad.
Those students who wish to obtain deeper insights into particular topics, choose to apply for the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program offered by the Department. Furthermore, our seminar series, as well as conferences organized by the Global and Entrepreneurial Finance Research Institute and by the Washington Area Finance Association, provide students and faculty with a constructive environment for further study and research in finance. |
